Should College Be Free Essay

College is an extension of your learning that is not required for lower end jobs, but without a college degree it is hard to get a well paying job. If college is required for so many careers should it be free? Offering free college would have its ups and downs for the college and the state or providence. Giving away free college will obviously benefit the student and give most colleges more attendees, but how does the college compensate for having to pay for school supplies for all of the students while still having to pay employees? How helpful would it be for a country or even just a state to offer free college? When asked if college should be free most people would probably say yes, but that's from right off the top of there head without thinking about what the pros and cons are to the situation. If the college were not to be taken advantage of by many than it would cause the countries economy to drop due to funding colleges that are wasting there funding on students who will never use their degree and employment rates in high end jobs would also drop. With less people working there will be less money that the government can get causing the economy to drop. If the economy were to drop then they would not be able to support free college and everything will have been for nothing. If the Government were to implement this than the people in the United States would be potentially a lot smarter as a whole. With access to as much information as the college holds people would be able to learn almost anything they want to know more about and they wouldn't even have to pay for the information. It could cause the worlds industrialization rates to increase with all the intelligent people the colleges would be helping to create. This would mean that technology, architecture, chemistry, and biology/ genetics would all advance at a much more rapid pace than they are
