Cigarettes have taken many people's lives away and have hurt many families that have lost someone due to cigarettes. Cigarettes should be illegal in Canada. Second hand smoke affects many people in Canada, this is due to the people who smoke on a daily, but don't realize they're slowly killing the others around them. Second hand smoke is a not a huge concern to lung cancer, but it can cause it if one is around it daily or often. Also if a smoker were to smoke around and innocent person who is trying to stay away from smoking, it is a higher risk that they will accompany the habit and become addicted. On the other hand, smoking while impregnated is horrible and should be illegal because of the high risk of the baby having a disorder or possibly death. For these reasons, smoking in Canada should be illegal because its affect innocent people who try to stay away from smoking. It may still come to a surprise to many people that cigarettes are legal, but cannabis isnt. Considering that cigarettes are the main cause of cancer, they are highly addictive and costly, and they affect the loved ones that surround smokers.
