Child soldiers, how should they be tried in court, as children or as adults? People are split on this issue, however I believe they should be tried as children. Although they’ve committed countless war crimes, they’ve been manipulated to do those things. In their trials evidence can be skewed to make them seem guilty. The situations they are in cause many to join the military, or they’re forced to. Children’s parents also sell their children to groups. The groups tell them that the family could be killed, for that reason the family’s may sell their children their and their children’s life. Although they may die in combat or from disease.
Khadr, a 15 year-old prisoner in Guantanamo Bay, was placed in there after killing a United States soldier. He was in a firefight where he was critically injured.
