Next, according to “Child soldiers should be prosecuted”, “If a child can be convicted for murder under national law they should also be held responsible for international crimes. There should be no exception simply because the crimes occurred in wartime.” They are considered a child criminal so they should be punished. Images last week from an ISIS video appearing to show a child executing a hostage were horrific. The very idea of the "cubs of the caliphate," as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria dubs them, is stomach-churning.”) This statement and photos show that the children in the video are no more than 14 years old thus they would not have had enough experience in the world to make the right decision. I say this because they are taken into war against their will, but then they commit many horrendous acts of killing and slaughter, which fills the perpetrator definition of someone who commits a crime. Some child soldiers are taken by government off of camps and forced into war, and if they try to leave they are shot down. In this situation, the soldiers are forced into combat and should be granted amnesty, but I believe that overall, child soldiers should only be granted amnesty if the prosecutors are certain the decision to go to war for these young soldiers was not their own. On one hand, child soldiers are victims and deserve amnesty.…

These children were treated like animals by eating up to a few times a day, being forced to fight for ideas they might not even agree with, forced to take drugs, and then possibly be beaten up later. When the children have done an action that their leaders do not like, or if their commanders feel like it, most will experience awful physical abuse. Most child soldiers have reported of being punched, kicked, stabbed, shot, and maimed by the people they are supposed to be fighting for. These kids have no idea what they are doing wrong most of the time. A majority of child soldiers have faced sexual abuse, most of which are girls.…

First, currently local agencies are not providing help for child soldiers in Syria. In fact, government forces are torturing children who have fought for opposing forces rather than helping them reintegrate into society (Nichols). Also, government forces are using torturous methods on children to derive information or confessions from children that were or are a part of opposing forces such as ISIS. Examples of torturous methods being used on children are “electric shock, beatings, stress positions and threats, and acts of sexual torture” (Nichols). Also, it has been proven that the Syrian government’s army has been recruiting child soldiers themselves (Nichols).…
