Bullying is aggressive behavior which is caused by an imbalance of power. Each year over 3.2 million students are victims of bullying. The three types of bullying are verbal, physical and social bullying. Why should bullying be taking so seriously? It causes lifelong emotional damage and even suicide. To prevent bullying, parents should be fined. The first offense fines would range from $200-$500, the second offense fines would range from $501-$1000, and the third offense fines would range from $1001-$1800 depending on the severity of harassment and damage caused. The law has to be changed to protect who are venerable. A long term solution to bullying cannot be resolved with just fines, in addition with the first fines, the student and the parents are to enter counselling where the root cause of bullying can be uncovered. As well during the first fines, police should be involved to notify the child and parents how it will be dealt with if their child does not stop bullying. This will definitely give a clear picture to the family as to what will happen next if it continues.
