“ALONE AND UNREPRESENTED”
From the moment we arrive at this world we are influenced by the culture and society around us. Our personalities and the way we generate behaviors are shaped by the culture surrounding us. All cultures/societies have ethical and moral systems that affect how people make decisions and lead their lives. The term ethic “derived from the Greek ethos which can mean custom, habitat, character or disposition (Ethics: a general introduction, BBC)” is used to define “right and wrong” behaviors. We find ourselves trapped in ethical and moral issues (situations) every day, where the sense of what is the real “right” thing to do is not always obvious, this leading us to the uncertainty when it comes to the way we deliberate our decisions. According to the US Department of Homeland Security, 52,000 unaccompanied children (double than last year numbers) have been apprehended since October (BBC News, Why are so many children trying to cross the US border?), an alarming number that continues to increase every day. The reasons behind these migration flows are believed to be the violence and economic situations that some Central American countries are facing. The increase in gang and drug related violence in countries like Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras, this last one having the world 's highest murder rate and an increase in the femicides task that has gone up about 30 percent since the beginning of the year (France24, U.S. border crisis: 'The children are refugees, not immigrants ',) is forcing the children to go on a journey in search of protection and better life expectancies. The children emigrate from these countries to Mexico where they will try to find a way to try cross to the
