Should Arranged Marriages Be Banned In America?

Arranged marriages is a very popular tradition in many countries. India is a prime example for arranged marriages. Immigrants from different countries bring these traditions to the United States, and pressure their American kids into relationships with someone they have no emotional feelings for. There are lots people in the United States are against this behavior, and many people who support it. However, I think arranged marriages should be illegal and banned in America because it goes against American freedom.
The first reason why I don’t support arranged marriages is because it forbids freedom that every American is promised. We all have the right to choose what we want and who we want. When someone forces a person to be in a relationship, that goes against the right that we have. No one should have to go through this, no matter what culture they’re from. We are all taught that if someone forces you to do something that you don’t want to do, just say no to it. However, when someone is forced into a marriage their freedom goes right out of the window. They could always say no, but I think they go along with it because they respect their parents.

There are probably “important” reasons why arranged marriages exist in other countries; nevertheless, I’m totally against it having a role in America. Arranged marriages forbid American freedom, causes stress disorders, and can block you from being in the state of true happiness. There are people that’ll never get to experience true freedom because they were forced into an arranged marriage. There are so many opportunities that America has for it’s citizens, so I don't understand why we should be pressured with being in an arranged marriage.
