If abortion was made illegal by the Constitution, then the amount of children in foster homes would rise, parents with terminally ill newborns would have to watch their babies suffer, and victims of rape would have a constant reminder of something terrible that happened to them.
What would you do if you found out you were pregnant but it wasn’t planned? Would you terminate or keep the baby? This is a topic that has plagued this country for years…abortion. A question that has been asked is this, should an anti-abortion amendment be added to the Constitution? For some people this is a definite yes, while others say no. I believe that abortion should be a woman’s decision and not something the government outlaws. Out of these 80,000 cases, almost half reported ending with a pregnancy. Abortion helps keep women that were raped from having to be reminded of that terrible event every time they look at their child. With an anti-abortion amendment, these women would be forced to deliver these babies causing them to either be given up for adoption or to be kept and possibly abused later in life.
