Animal Testing In Medicine

Animals testing is not a good technique to the medicine, carries a non-ethical concept and needs to be stopped. Experiments on animals can be viewed as inherent process in the evolution of science, that it had done a lot and still have a lot to do for humanity. Animals should be treated as important piece of a puzzle as the life on earth. But trying to apply human rights on them it is a total misunderstanding, animal testing can have been useful for the past times, but now we need a change the medicine paths. All the efforts to the discovery of new vaccines or cures of diseases should be put in a more predicted and effected method. We have reached a technology level that allows us to use the computer as a tool for medicine new discoveries in …show more content…
Animals testing has its flaws as humans and animals’ organisms are not the same. Even experimentation with mammals, the closest animal type from humans, can led us to a failing in the prediction of toxic effects of drugs. Thus, animal testing is a waste of effort and money. The scientific process consists on discoveries and studies that can contradict predetermined concepts. Therefore, researchers can be studying a peculiarity of some specie that can be resulted by many different factors. Trying to apply this new discovery in humans can be catastrophic as these new concepts cannot be applicable to human beings. For example in 1960’s, experimentation on animals showed that the tobacco did not cause lung cancer, although it caused some minor issues. This research was used for years as an argument to delay the government warning related to smoking habits. However, we still have to continue to test drugs before using in humans. There many other methods to study the effects of drugs in humans, between them we can cite a few: epidemiological studies, human tissue and cell cultures, and autopsy studies. In addition, there are being developed a new technique that will be capable of eliminate animal testing for good. It consist of software, called in silico (on computers), use that will identify and map the pathways by a particle …show more content…
Indeed, spreading these discussion among other people can actually help to prevent it. It is a legitimate dispute and has a plenty of reason. The public attention to the practice has decreased in the past few years, but the concern among scientists, animal-rights groups, researches institutions continues high. It calls for a more open debate for a higher public attention. Most people do not know whether the drug they are taking was tested by animals or not. This new view of the public attention can increase the government concern about this issue. With the public attention, perhaps more investments can be made in order to eradicate the animal testing in our researcher’s

Animal testing, although defective, has proven to be beneficial. Animal testing has contributed to medical science in a number of ways. Because of the complexity of the human body, scientists will argue that it is necessary to perform research on living animals. However, because humans and other animals vary significantly, these tests may not always produce accurate results. Although there are alternatives to animal testing, eliminating the usage of animals will slow the progress of medical advancement.…

The nature of the tests is still not known, as the findings have not been made public, however two independent scientists that have conducted air pollution tests on human volunteers told BBC that similar tests on humans are common (Gunter, 2018). The controversial and unethical testing was found to be funded by a lobbyist group, not independent or by government. In these tests, “participants spend up to two hours in a sealed environment chamber breathing diluted diesel fumes equivalent to the levels of air pollution in Beijing or Delhi”…

One of the alternative method is computer model, is able to form three-dimensional organ systems. “For instance, to show thousands of molecular interactions and connect the heart to a virtual circulatory system” (Biever 2). Computer model is able to conduct biological and psychological testing safety for new medications and toxicity chemicals without human and animal testing. Which is very beneficial to both animals and humans because it will save lots of innocent animal subjects, and can stop suffering from toxic chemical…

After studying multiple views on animal testing I have come to realize my personal view has now changed since the start of my research. Before undergoing heavy study into animal testing I believed that all types of animal testing should be stopped, but now I believe that the idea is very beneficial and should only be done when the rights of the animal are considered. In the coming years, hopefully, more regulations can be passed to ensure that all animal’s lives are protected during experimentation. Although most animals are treated with care and no pain is dealt to them when undergoing testing, it would be a lie if I stated no animals are harmed during the process. Animal testing is extremely useful in developing life-saving drugs and medicine.…
