Should Animals Be Telling Mrs Pilsen Lie To Her Husband

Mrs. Pilsen feels devastated that her cat died and also expresses how his husband Ed would feel when he would hear the news his cat died. She mentions Ed would feel completely devastated and feel depressed about his cat’s loss. A stylistic device used here is irony as this quote is showing an opposite effect that we do not even know will happen. What is being ironic is the reader thinks that Mrs. Pilsen would tell her husband the news that his cat has died. Instead she decides not to tell Ed and replace Horace with an electric cat so her husband would not know that Horace has died. The reader all believe that Mrs. Pilsen should be telling Ed about the cat’s death but instead she is willing to lie to her husband and questioning the readers why should she lie to her husband. When children have a pet, their attitude towards animals can predict their future behavior. If they are abusing they are abusing animals, it means this person may have a violent behavior in the future. If they are taking care of their pets, it means this person may show empathy, caring and respect. The idea of people interacting with animals shows the person the ability to demonstrate empathy to their pet and to society. When Mrs. Pilsen and Ed had their cat Horace, they were able to take care of their pet and the ability to demonstrate empathy towards Horace and to society. It especially changed Ed’s life since he was a child as he loved taking care of his cat and that taught him to be caring and respect. By knowing how animals help teach others to show empathy, it is important to know about this so we can have everyone have a pet and as a result, pets would teach them to demonstrate kindness and respect and not to be violent.
