Persuasive Essay: Should Animal Testing Be Banned?

Did you know that animals such as mice, rabbits, horses and other innocent animals are widely being used as animal testing all over the world? According to an analysis reported from EU countries published in alternatives journal, Altex, the number of experiments on animal has risen to 13.1 million per year across the 28 member states of the European Union, an increase of 14% in 2014. Although there are some people believe that the animal testing and experiments are necessary for medical and cosmetic purposes, I strongly believe that the animal testing should be banned because animal testing which also known as animal vivisection against the animal rights and can cause harm to animal populations. The Cruelty Free International web site states that the replacing animal tests does not expose human at any risk. Instead, replacing the animal testing will also improve the quality of the results. As the technologies are develop into a higher level, scientists have discovered new effective methods to study about diseases such as cell culture and computer model method which are being replaced in areas such as toxicity testing, neuroscience and drug development. According to the William Russell and Rex Burch, the authors of The Principles of Humane Experimental Technique published in 1959, the alternative test methods include the three following aspects which are replace, reuse and refine.
