Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be” (NIV). In this section of Scripture, David is describing the creative and complex design in making a life what it is and is worth. When he explains the process of being “knit” in the mothers womb, David is implying that as soon as conception takes place, the making of a new being is beginning. The Bible also states in Exodus 20:13, “You shall not murder” (NIV). Conception is the first step in the process of pregnancy, which is reproducing and having a child. Abortion is removing the egg, therefore eliminating any chance of the embryo developing further, ultimately ending the life of the child. Because abortion is killing a child, the process is breaking the 6th commandment, proving the Bible does defend the unborn child. The personal choice to commit to an abortion is alway tied to an emotional barrier. For anti-abortionists, they find the decision difficult and taxing emotionally after the fact, realizing the life of a child that could be running around some day. An abortion procedure is so inhumane, some doctors are considered heartless to continue with procedures. The only real reason a doctor starts performing abortion operations is the amount of money that follows. On average, each procedure costs $300 (Nathanson). For Dr. Nathanson, performing 75,000 abortions brought in an estimated $22,500,000. Although money can be so enticing, the actual procedures can drive many doctors eventually running from the room in terror. For each trimester of pregnancy there are different types of procedures. In the first trimester there is: Methotrexate and Misoprostol (MTX), Mifepristone and Misoprostol, Manual Vacuum Aspiration (MVA), and Aspiration. MTX is a type of medication that can be taken in the first seven weeks of pregnancy. Mifepristone and Misoprostol is also a medication taken in the first seven weeks but is the most commonly known as “the abortion pill.” MVA is an actual procedure that can be completed in three to twelve weeks from the last period and is “considered less invasive.” Aspiration is a surgical abortion that can be complete sixteen weeks after the last period and is most commonly known as suction curettage (vacuum aspiration). During the second trimester of pregnancy there are other methods of aborting the children: Dilation and Curettage (D&C), Dilation and Evacuation (D&E), and Induction abortion. D&C is a

Abortion Rights American society is divided over the issue of abortion, the induced termination of a pregnancy. The American people are split between the facts of whether or not the government has an obligation to protect unborn children. Two extremes define people’s stance on abortion: pro-life and pro-choice, the belief that women should not terminate pregnancies and that women have the rights to decide, respectively. This is an essential argument because individual rights are the foundation of American culture. Medical dangers, the origin of human life, and women’s rights all support individual choice; therefore, the American government has no responsibility, moral or legal, to condemn abortion.…
