Specific purpose: At the end of my speech, the audience will be convinced and capable of taking the right side in the contentious issue of abortion.
Introduction: It seems ironic that people can get so emotional when it comes to animal rights, yet see no wrong in ripping a developed baby from the protection of the mother. For about the last three decades, the issue of abortion has polarized this nation. Some have argued strenuously that abortion should be legal through all nine months of pregnancy, and for almost any reason. Whereas others have argued just as strenuously that abortion is the killing of a human being, and so should not be legal, except perhaps when a pregnancy endangers the life of the mother. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) (January 2012), approximately there are an estimated 40-50 million abortions done every year, this corresponds to almost 125,000 abortions per day. The controversial issue of whether or not a woman has the right to decide to have an abortion is a decision that involves ethical, legal, religious, social and psychological aspects. Abortion is an intentional violent act that kills an unborn baby. Arguments for abortion are unlikely to convince us. You can 't justify killing an unborn human being. In this speech, we will talk about the violence performed within abortion, how it affects the mother and why some of the people approve to this act.
