Abortion. What is it? Abortion is the act of removing a human embryo or fetus from the uterus of a pregnant woman before the completion of the full term of pregnancy. Twenty-one percent of all U.S. pregnancies end in abortion. On average, women give at least 3 reasons for choosing abortion: 75% say that having a baby would interfere with work, school or other responsibilities; about 75% say they cannot afford a child; and 50% say they do not want to be a single parent or are having problems with their partner (Rich 17). “Women should have the right to do what they please with their bodies. No woman can call herself free who does not own and control her own body."Margaret Sanger said (Women 's Rights 33). The Supreme Court should not interfere in what should be decided between the woman and her doctor. She should be able to choose abortion through all nine months of her pregnancy if she wishes to do so. This is showing the mindset that most women have on how they feel the need to have control over what is done to their bodies. It 's a violation of women 's civil rights to not allow them to abort a baby. Feminism plays a huge role in reinforcing and reminding women that it should always be a right for the female gender to do what they please with their bodies. Feminism basically sums up to the mothers that they shouldn 't think of abortion as something wrong, but as a right and a privilege. “Abortion gets presented to us as if it’s something women want. But women do this only if all their other options look worse. Although the mother does have rights so does the life she’s caring inside her.
