Should Abortion Be Illegal? What is abortion? Abortion is basically the murder of a fetus. Although abortion has dropped statistically in my eyes it’s still a crime. The sad thing is that there is at least one abortion clinic in every US state. It should be illegal because a fetus is a human being, and it is considered to be murder, therefore abortion is a crime. Abortion was first legalized in 1973 by the Supreme Court case Roe vs Wade. Since then, there have been more than fifty-four million abortions in the United States, and is continuing to grow rapidly.
