About 1.21 million abortions are performed per year, and 125,000 abortions per day. Thats a lot of precious lives lost. The procedures can be very disturbing. some women may think it’s the best choice for them but the child could have a better life if she chose to have the baby and put it up for adoption instead of “killing” the helpless child. In my opinion abortion should be banned in the united states.

There are many different types of abortions, but no matter how the surgery is performed, it is still wrong. Not only is abortion bad for the child, it is harmful for the mother both mentally and physically. The thought process of someone getting or have gotten an abortion could be very damaging, Once they realize that they decided to “kill” the child they have a higher risk of suffering from depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts. Physiological damages are more common than physical damages in women who have had one or multiple abortions. The physiological effects are very serious. For example,, some of the damages include regret, anger, guilt, shame, sense of loneliness or isolation, loss of self confidence, insomnia or nightmares, relationship issues, suicidal thoughts or actions, eating disorders, depression, and anxiety. A few examples of how the woman can be harmed physically are the woman can be at an increased risk of loss of fertility and has a higher risk of miscarriages, excessive bleeding, infection, incompetent cervix, perforated uterus,bowel or bladder, scarring,increased risk of breast cancer, ectopic pregnancy, complications from anesthesia, and death according to http://www.birthmothers.com .
