These states include Alaska, Kansas, Arizona, Maine, Vermont, Wyoming, and West Virginia. While there are some differences in the laws between the states the general idea of this law is that residents of the state who are over the age of 21 and have not lost their firearms rights do not need a special permit, but instead the Second Amendment counts as their permit, to be allowed to carry a gun in a concealed manner such as in a holster that goes on the inner-waist band of the wearer’s bottoms. I believe that eliminating the permit process is not beneficial to the society as a whole and that the removing permits takes …show more content…
I do think that permits for concealed weapons should be required due to the benefits of the permit. With the permit background testing is preformed and there are typically some sort of class requirement to ensure that the person behind the gun is well aware of the responsibilities that come with owning a gun, as well as how to take care of the gun, how to shoot, and safety. I think if you’re going to use a gun you should be well informed and educated about the matter not just for your own safety, but for anyone else’s safety who crosses paths with you. If the law continues to stand and more and more states adopt the constitutional carry law I think that regulations should be placed on places that sell guns that do not currently have to do background checks like flea markets and yard sales. Due to the human nature of self-defense, sport, and surviving, the second amendment will always remain relevant in society. Although there are many regulations as to who can own a gun, where they are allowed, and requiring a permit to carry and concealed weapon, the second amendment still protects and grants the right of the militia and citizens to “keep and bear arms”. In order to ensure that the government couldn’t take away the citizens firearms, the founding fathers preserved their right to self-defense with the ratification of the second amendment on December 15, 1791. In today's society, Americans are still trying to defend their right to bear arms.…

On your campaign website, you state: "Elise is a staunch supporter of the 2nd Amendment and strongly opposes the NY SAFE Act. The deeply flawed legislation only leaves law-abiding New Yorkers in more danger of criminals breaking the law in the first place. Elise is a gun owner, a card-carrying member of the National Rifle Association, and will strongly oppose legislation and executive actions that infringe on the 2nd Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens." No officer near the scene had another non-lethal way to deal with the situation at hand (Give Cops). This is exact testament contributes greatly to the need for gun control laws–even in law enforcement. There are those who support gun control laws in the United States and there are those who oppose gun control laws. Gun control laws should not violate a citizen’s right to bear arms, however, these laws should exist in order to assure security for the country as a whole.…

There are many ways to prevent people that are not responsible, nor sane enough from owning weapons.
