If at the age of 18 people are already considered as “adults” … but are they really considered as adults? The government just considers them as adults for their own benefit such as being able to be sent off to war or to be able to vote. In the article it explains that “Eighteen-year-olds, it turns out, “are not a very good first voting age group”(Shin). I would say I agree with this because when everyone is in high school and students are close to being eighteen all they think about is that they will finally be able to get out of high school, be able to move out of their house, and be able to be a bit more dependent on their own and not think about voting. …show more content…
In my personal experience I feel that since I am learning about how the voting system works, and since we had our recent election and if the age of voting was 16 and 17 I would vote since I meet the requirements to vote. If we had the chance to be able to vote at the age mentioned in the election of 2016 then we would have made a difference especially for those who don’t agree of the future
