Short Term Smart Goals

Improved Essays
One short-term SMART goal that will help improve my leadership practice of delegating tasks would be to write and implement a new policy and procedure document for our team. This new policy and procedure documents will address our current payment processing procedures. The document will be implemented at the beginning of the academic quarter on April 1, 2017. To achieve this goal I will need to devote one hour each week for the next two months to outline, write the document, and gather feedback. I will also meet with our Compliance Director once each month to discuss the implementation and to make sure the policy will not violate or contradict any current compliance policies. By creating this policy and procedure document, I can outline procedures for the anomalies we encounter on a daily basis. We can also eliminate some of the uncertainty regarding making certain decisions within our department. In the future, team members can refer to our policy and procedure document to complete tasks and make judgment calls.
The second short-term SMART goal that will help improve communication and relationship building skills is to organize a team workshop for subordinates. To develop this skill, in the workshop we will discuss process improvement plans, communicate

The purpose of the policy will be to provide consistency within our department with how we process transactions, without alienating our internal customers as well as providing a framework for the team members to follow while completing tasks. I will also need to meet with my team members to determine their strengths so I can delegate
