First and foremost I want to actually earn my master’s degree, and upon graduation I would like to begin working, maybe in a hospital clinic if my internship proves useful, or maybe even open my own practice. Eventually, I would like to go on and pursue a PhD in counseling. I love working with individuals and this level of degree would open so many doors for me. I am determined and I know one way or another I will reach my long-term goals even if the short-term goals have to change. On a personal level I want to experience other cultures and see how where I am and socioeconomic status interact with psychology. Going to college opened my eyes a lot about how different cultures view themselves and each other, I knew people from over seventy different countries (quite a feat for such a small school in rural North Carolina!), and many of them became my friends.
