The noise of high heels dancing on the wooden floorboards echoes through the cold, empty, deserted rooms of the compact London flat, that she had called home for the last few years.Eyes closed, she drinks in the memories, smells and sounds. Moving from room to room, revisiting happy times and events, absorbing them to her mind’s eye for the long lonely nights that she thinks lay ahead. Suddenly Sarah Jane stops and stands like a statue frozen in time. Here in a state of numbness, within the walls of silence, cold, empty living room that was often filled with love and laughter. Sarah beings to doubt if the decision to leave and return to Yorkshire was the right one or the one she would regret in time.

Ticket pressed against her lips to hide her confusion, sadness and panic. She begins to watch the constant movement of people. It reminds her of the sea at high tide, when the waves are strong enough to knock you off your feet. At that moment Sarah is swept along, floating on the crest of the wave towards the train, bobbing along the platform buoyant with hope. Confusion, sadness and panic floating away with every wave she rides towards the train. Boarding the Grand Central train heading North on autopilot her head filled with anticipation and optimism.
The train starts to move. The noise, the rapid movement, children’s excited giggles and end of conversations on mobiles surround’s Sarah Jane as she frantically looks for her North facing window seat. Sarah twists and turns and melts into her seat. The frantic few moments of boarding a train now ebbing away and calm descends on the train. Head resting on the window, she inhales a deep breath and presses the metaphorical day dream rewind button.
Tired and unsure if she should she starts to watch the life changing events of the past few months through the mist and rain of the train window. The memories are projected from her memory bank in full HD ready with surround

Heading for the doors, she begins to notice the carriage is full of people, phones ringing, giggles, hushed voices, tapping of laptop keys and footsteps. Sarah disembarks the train at Leeds Station and again is swept along the platform, this time excitement and joy, overwhelms her like a wave crashing on the sands, as she whispers “Hello Yorkshire, Hello New Life.”
