The Bull Monologue

The Bull put a hand on my shoulder and asked what I was doing. He looked at the prisoners and told me not to go towards them. I told him I wanted to fight and he said to promise not to cry if he cut me. We never got to fight. There was gold cloaks right behind me. They were on horses with their black ringmail and their golden cloaks flowing in the wind. One of the men wore a black enamel breastplate, he was the officer. They are men of the City Watch. I watched as they came towards the inn, I pulled the Bull by his arm and took him behind a tall hedge. He questioned me, but I told him to shush as we listen to the men speak to Yoren. The gold cloaks spoke of taking a boy. I knew who they want. It was me. I am the boy. It has to be! Why else …show more content…
There was a camp ahead of us, twenty or so men, all in mail and halfhelms. Some were cut bad, ones dying, they got spears and shields, only one lame horse. Yoren asked if he saw a banner, Koss said it was a spotted treecat, yellow and black. Yoren did not know whose side they were on and said it would matter for they would take our mounts. He decided that we will go around them, it took two days but he said it was a cheap price that pay. The more we traveled, the mode I saw men guarding the fields. They would stare at us until we passed, I even saw a man in a tree, he drew his arrow until he could not see us anymore. Yoren was in a foul mood, cursing at everyone and anything. Even said he hoped the Others will take them all.
The same day, Dobber saw a red glow in the sky. Yoren went to get a better look and said it was a fire. He licked his thumb and held it to the wind and said the wind will blow away from us.we watched as the the evening turned into night and the fire made the whole north look like it was on fire. I could smell the smoke faintly however by dawn, the fire burned out. I could not sleep that night. The north was on fire and my mind wandered about my family. I hope they are

From the first moment Romiette, Julio, Ben, and Destiny started to create their plan, I knew it would go wrong. The plan, in short, was to send Romi and Julio out as bait to record The Devildogs threatening them. This part of the plan alone sounds dangerous, but it gets worse. As a safety precaution Destiny and Ben would trail behind the couple in a loud, slowly moving car. Since they began talking about the plan, I've been anxious for them, so naturally, this section had me on the edge of my seat.…

Ian, You have a very interesting opening, which I absolutely agree with. I have never thought that we can travel in our imagination as good as travelling physically, but after reading these essays, and your analysis I aware that it is possible to travel efficiently spiritually. Kevin Chroust ’s essay “The Bull Passes Through” was my favorite essay of this course, because I loved the way Chroust describes his journey of about 50 minutes in a very particular way. When you said “He states that there is a moderate amount of self-preservation revealed through self-destruction and it holds true because he ends up realizing his true direction in life and who he really is.”…

Bruises hurt. Growing up with the uncomfortable yellow-green of an old battle wound sustained from being an adventurous kid wasn't much of a surprise. The off-shade violet of a deep one, or the angry red of an underdeveloped one, on the other hand, is a more recent discovery. Receiving them daily has become a required hindrance when being chased by your neighbor's sex crazed Pit bull. The snaps and cracks of bone dry branches echo through the twisted wood as the young boy attempted to escape from his pursuer. The child darted between the gnarled oaks and continued to sprint for his life. Each of his useless weapons had been abandoned long before this moment, however the boy longed for the slight protecting his father’s dull sword would offer him. The labored breaths of the exhausted child grew louder as the unseen beast drew nearer. He continued to sprint until, in the brief moment of trying to observe his pursuer, he lost sight of the menacing tree angrily twisted in his path.…
