Independence Lost The book Independence Lost was written by Kathleen DuVal. When you think of independence freedom comes well Kathleen DuVal provides us with an amazing image of what independence is through the story Independence Lost. The story gives us background information and so much history about what went on during those times as Americans and others was fighting for independence. Kathleen DuVal tells the story through many characters that I will get into later. Independence Lost gives us hints about each individual motive to move towards freedom and gain independence. The people in the story wanted independence as much as our founding fathers wanted it. Indepdence have such a strong and personal national meaning behind it and in the story we find out that the choices of the people living outside the colonies were significant to the outcome of the …show more content…
Throughout the story we get to see how individual lives led to the outcome of the war. In the story Kathleen DuVal uncovered history that was unknown. The story gives us an up close look almost as if we were there. The story Independence lost is significant to American history so we can understand the revolutionary war and what went on behind the scene. Throughout the story we gain better understanding about the contributors that help led to the great outcome of the war. Behind this story I understand that many people fought for my freedom and the contributors risk everything that they ever own. We have to give recognition in American history to people like James and Isabella Bruce, who work was working with the British empire they placed their lives in danger for independence. Their lives leave an impact on people who will read this story so they will understand that these people were the reason North America changed
