It was an early quiet morning on Apple Hill farm, Farmer Dave got up ready to work. Today he has to move all the chickens into their new big coop instead of three separate ones. He gets out of bed and gets dressed, puts on his work boots and heads out the door. He walks passed the other animal ringing a bell making sure they were awake. Once he gets to the chicken coops he grabs a bag of their food and makes a trail with it to make sure the chickens would not run away. He walks over to the new coop and pours the rest of the food there. He goes over to the first coop and lets them out, they run right into the new coop. Same with the other two coops full of chickens. After that he jogs over and shuts the gate to the pen of their new coop and goes to do other chores. Later that day he checks up on the chickens and it looks like the chickens are getting along with each other. He goes inside to eat some lunch, take a little …show more content…
Everything looked fine so he goes to wake up the animals and collect the eggs. Again all the animals are awake and now the chickens laid 82 eggs. He knew something was wrong this time so that night, he sneaks up into the hayloft to see whats up. During the night all he hears is the chickens, clucking all night. Especially these two that were in different coops before. “I gonna have to deal with this tomorrow” Farmer Dave says.
He gets up the next day and just like he expected all animals are awake, egg number were low, and the cows aren't producing milk. “This must be because of those pesky chickens” he said angrily. He walks over to the coops and those same two chickens were clucking up a storm again. He picks them up and puts one in the barn to see if that helps. That night he goes to the hayloft and see if this helps. The farm was quiet as could be, then all if the sudden he hears something outside. “It's those darn chickens” he shouts. Farmer Dave gets up and his phone rings.
“Hello this is Farmer

(A playful writing influenced by A. A. Milne’s ‘Winnie the Pooh and Beatrix Potter’ Stories) I gaze from my window to see a slight rustle in the conifers, picking up my binoculars with curiosity I notice a wood pigeon fluttering about; my imagination gets the better of me, thoughts rolled into a story. I don’t believe in happy endings; but I will try and write something with a good end to it and no better way can a story be brought to life than through the antics of wood pigeons. There was a group of eight pigeons and in that group there were five males and three females; I know the odds are not looking good for all the males and some will miss out and, of course, it is generally the weaker ones. It was spring, that time of year when…

Also, to reiterate what was stated in the previous paragraph, Jim Styan, when he bought the chickens, did not have a coop for them to live in, and did not plan to build one for them. Someone who was even slightly knowledgeable about trying to raise any sort of animal would know that they need shelter to survive, not just a field beside a house. Jim Styan is, above all else, completely foolish. An example would be that when he goes to the movies he acts like a fool, so much so, that the first time Crystal went to the movies with him, she pretended as if she had nothing to do with him: “...Laugh loudly all the way through the movie. He always laughs at everything, even if it isn’t funny….…
