Short Street Research Paper

Decent Essays
Hello, everyone at Short Street. This is David Lee.

I didn't expect the time would go this fast, and my graduation is nearby already. There were many things happened in my university life, but I can tell that my experience at Short Street was one of the most influential events I had.

When I first came to do my practice, everything was very hard and difficult for me, because I was very shy person as well as the fact that I never had any experience at childcare centre before. My experience at Short Street extended my perspectives, and allowed me to think about my relationships with parents and peer educators, not just with children. I thank you all and these memories I had with Short Street will stay with me forever.

Mrs. Kraus provided me and a fellow student ( Ashlyn Cox) the opportunity to clean the concession stand in the gymnasium so it would be clean for the Prom. We cleansed the concession stand with Oxygen Orange which is an all purpose cleaner and can clean almost anything. Prior to heading to the location we gathered four wash rags and we each had our own bottle of Oxygen Orange. When we arrived to the concession stand it was an absolute mess.…

The civil rights movement has been around for many years, it first started in the 1950s. According to history the african american civil rights movement only lasted from 1954 to 1968 because the civil rights act was passed in 1968 making it illegal to discriminate concerning the sale, rental, and financing of housing based on race, religion, and national origin. It also made it a federal crime to "by force or by threat of force, injure, intimidate, or interfere with anyone…by reason of their race, color, religion, or national origin". But the truth it that to this day there's still many many people fighting for their civil right. But it is not just african americans that are still fighting for their rights.…

In reality, achieving the common good in a representative democracy that is so diverse will not prosper; there will always be a subculture part of society that will disagree. We believe that although politicians do whatever they can in the public’s best interest, achieving the common good is not a realistic goal that many can achieve. It is not an idealistic goal for a diverse society to achieve the common good, because social issues such as human behaviour, government policies, religious conflicts, gender inequalities and economic disparities affect the human society as a whole. These issues would destroy hope for anyone that believes society can achieve a common good. There will always be two problems that will contradict one another and…

Parker Hargett Professor Hagen Sustainable cities 13 October 2015 New York city The city that I decided to write about for this assignment is New York City. The reason that I decided to choose this city was because of the interesting historic events that have happened in the city of New York and how it has come to one of the most thriving cities that is also the culture capital of the United States. New york officially did not get its name until the 18th century when the British seized New Amsterdam from the dutch giving it a new name: New York City. For the next century, New York's population started to increase allowing immigrants from Germany, Netherlands, and France. The city played an important role in transporting goods through…
