Today was the day. She was totally going to get Pietro this time… Hiding in the cramped cupboard, she waited impatiently for Pietro to walk past. She had already been there for twenty minutes, and her legs were getting sore from staying in the crouched position for so long. Another ten minutes passed and she was growing quite bored. So bored in fact that she was contemplating the jam stain on the inside of the door. I wonder what it tastes like… She shook her head at herself, mentally scolding herself. She sighed, noting along with him. “Fine,” she said, walking out the kitchen door. Where to hide next… “Boo!” She screamed loudly as she felt hands on her waist, preventing her from going further. When she realized it was Pietro, she started struggling against him. “Ugh!” She exclaimed, “You asshole!” Pietro laughed, further irritating his female companion. “You didn’t see that coming?” Pietro questioned, quirking an eyebrow. She scowled at his over-used catchphrase, increasing her struggles to be released. “Hey,” Pietro teased after he released her, “I’m not the one who hid in a cabinet for an hour.” She scowled at him. “Shut up,” she growled, crossing her arms over her chest. Pietro laughed, throwing one of his arms around her shoulders. She blushed slightly at the action, her cheeks tinted pink. “Come on, can I make it up to you with a movie?” His eyes had a mischievous sparkle in them. She pursed her lips before looking at him playfully. “I don’t know, maybe,” she said nonchalantly before walking down the hallway towards the main room. Pietro allowed a grin to tug at the side of his mouth before following her. Maybe scaring can be fun

Kurapika had no idea how long he lay in Leorio’s arms, winded and trembly, listening to the soft whir of the ceiling fan overhead. It couldn’t possibly have been for more than a minute or two — and yet, to him, it was as if a probable eternity had passed, and in that eternity Leorio had shown him that there were stars lurking just behind his eyelids. Kurapika propped himself up on one elbow, a little alarmed by how tired he was, and raked his sweaty bangs off his face with a strengthless hand. Everything had gone low-lit and hazy in the aftermath, and he felt — not different, exactly, at least not in any concrete way.…
