Short Story – Christopher Boone
Entry point in the novel: after the end of the novel in the future
To a Great Mind Nothing Is Little1
My watch alarm woke me at 8:00 a.m. from my favourite dream, the one where everyone in the world has died. When I open my eyes to see the bottom of the empty bunk bed mattress above me, I remember that my very first day of University is today and I feel heavy. I had prepared with my family a lot for this day, by moving into the Share House and living far away, I had gone to Support Group which was a part of my scholarship. I had learned all kinds of techniques for today like how to deal with my Behavioural Problems, how to read and react to others expressions or emotions, how to live with six people and going

I knew it would take me 16 minutes to walk to the campus. At quiet times of the day I had walked to the campus six times for today. I did not know how long it would take me to get to Lecture Room E13 and I had 48 minutes to do so. There weren’t many people on the street but the closer I came to the campus, the more people I noticed. I checked my watch regularly and thought about Physics and Maths related to space which I would learn about at University, this made me feel better. When I arrived at the entrance, however I started feeling sick again. I pulled out the map and figured out directions I had to go and memorised it which helped me block out the people walking and sitting on the grass and …show more content…
Across the hall, a girl with hair the colour of Sandy’s fur, sat at a bench. When I looked at her, she smiled and asked “Are you here for the first physics lecture?” I forced myself to reply and I said bluntly “Yeah.” I didn’t want her to talk to me anymore so I didn’t look up until more people appeared and stood or sat near the door to Lecture Room E13 so I remembered all the Techniques to distract myself from the growing number of people. At 9:32 a.m. a man with grey stubble and glasses directed everyone into a large room that looked like a theatre or cinema and I began to feel dizzy because it was a new place and there were lots of people. Everyone took a seat on a folding chair with a desk and I sat at the back so I was closest to the door and far away from everyone but the girl sat near

11:00 am I wake up to a perfectly clean room with a perfect breakfast: sausage, pancakes, bacon, and cinnamon rolls all sitting right next to my bed. I eat my breakfast and get ready for the day. I go downstairs to see my friends Austen, Zach, and Elias down there holding four tickets to the Super Bowl game tonight and a jet sitting outside in the field. I had slept in a little past what we had planned on leaving by but it didn’t matter too much we still had plenty of time to do what we wanted to.…

In the novel “The curious incident of the dog in the night-time” the author Mark Haddon creates the main character, Christopher Boone as a flat character unlike his father, Ed Boone who is a round character. When first being introduced to Christopher’s character, it is noticeable that he is a very stereotypical against humans yet more sympathetic to animals, as it says: “I cared about dogs because they were faithful and honest, and some dogs were cleverer and more interesting than some people.” (Haddon, pg. 6) and “I like dogs. You always know what a dog is thinking. It has four moods.…

A novel can do many things that make us think. In 2003 The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time by Mark Haddon shows us a look on one situation through three very unique people. The story contains many moments that give you a look at the character’s motives. Such moments are when Judy leaves the family because she can't handle Christopher (pg 106) or when Ed told Christopher that he was the one killed wellington (pg 121).…

Reluctantly stumbling through a sea of all different walks of life, I tightly held on to my clunky lunch box as it bumped into every new face I passed. I scrambled around the intimidatingly large campus of Cypress Bay High School searching for my classroom. “Excuse me, do you happen to know where the 300’s building is?” I asked in a shaken voice, but no one seemed to hear me. It was as if everyone spoke a different language that I did not understand.…

It was like any other school day, coming back from lunch, sitting in class, and talking to friends; however, it all changed once I arrived in my American Studies class. Mrs. Forbs was standing in front of the class waiting for everyone to quiet down. The class was a bunch of sixth graders, so it took a while to make us be silent. The day felt weird for me, I had my same robotic schedule but for some reason something didn’t feel right. I thought it had something to do with the food I ate for lunch, I would be prepared to head down to the bathroom or even nurse if that was the case; however, what happened that day no sixth grader would be able to prepare for.…

We walked into the air conditioned building from the smoldering heat. This was the hard part; Jordy and I had to part ways and go to different classes. As we left each other the nerves grew inside me like a shaken up soda waiting for a fool to open it and explode. Praying that I had friends in my class, I walked in unsure if my legs were weak because of the anxiety I was feeling about who I was going to eat lunch with or the long hike I was going to have to take daily to Mrs.…
