The Emperor’s blades
“By your robes, Shin?” queried the Tornjad with sudden intrigue.

Tornjad was a forester Kaden and Tan meet in the mountains who took interest in them.

“No, we’re pilgrims of the Blank god hoping to expand our knowledge with the Shin” replied Kaden, hoping not to reveal any information to the boy that might lead to trouble.

“Ha!, you really think that lie could fool me, you Shins make me laugh, no wonder people are trying to overthrow you, you! As emperor, you! Ha Ha!” Tornjad guffawed aloud whilst pointing to Kaden, “Oh Salitun, bright were his days, blah blah blah goat-f**k.”

How did he know Kaden’s identity? Does he know Salitun; the former emperor? Is he going to kill Kaden in a bid for the Unhewn Throne? These questions were cut short in Kaden’s mind as Tan raised his naczal and slashed.

“Go to Meshket!” Swore Tan as he sliced for Tornjad’s neck.

Tan’s naczal continued its motion towards Tornjad’s throat. But before it connected, Tornjad held up something that forced a scream out of Kaden’s throat.

“TAN! STOP!” cried Kaden

It was Salitun’s amulet… Salitun had once told Kaden to trust whoever had the amulet. But only days ago those trusted by Salitun had tried to kill Kaden, the rightful heir to the throne

Tornjad held the amulet as if to admire “Ah, old friend, Salitun, bright were our days frolicking.” and as if to Salitun, Tornjad sighed “Your son will know all. I swear it.”

“Kaden,” Tornjad said, handing the sword at his belt. “I am Salitun’s old friend, he told me to support you before he died. If you don’t trust what I say then let my head roll.”

The wise option was obviously to call b***s*** on the man, but something made Kaden drop the sword.

“I trust you” said Kaden

“Your as wise as your father” said Tornjad, “The Cestriim are coming, its not safe to talk now, meet me on devil peak three days from now”

“If you trust me.” and with that Tornjad disappeared into the thicket to the sound of shouting

George Leston the Second then threw a well timed and soft, at least by his standards, punch aiming straight for Lone's face. As soon as the two met, Lone tried to swing his glaive into George's abdomen but failed to connect his hit as he was hit by the incredibly fierce and powerful blow that George had prepared while running straight to his face. He was instantly sent rocketing back through the courtyard as all of the bone armour covering his face was smashed to pieces. A brief flash of light and I found myself on the familiar grounds, surrounded by a few shipping containers, bent metal, and an enormous, spherical machine with an orange core that lit up the open splotches on its surface. This was the gateway to the Devil Splicer’s lair, where we could take out the Splicer’s leaders, and where I could possibly gain control of SIVA for myself. The area I was in was no different compared to the first time I had traversed through here. The grounds were still covered in snow and the place was in complete control of the Splicers, becoming more of a machine terrain than a terrestrial one.…

Feminist Theory within The Handmaid’s Tale Feminist criticism is a literary approach that seeks to distinguish the female human experience from the male human experience. Feminist critics draw attention to the ways in which patriarchal social structures purloined women while male authors have capitalized women in their portrayal of them.
