Once upon a time in a land far, far away lived a kind king and an evil step queen. They had a son called Charming. She espoused the king for his wealth and potency. The soft-hearted king did not know about the malignant things she did behind his back. The kingdom was in great despair. The people of the kingdom eagerly waited for the day the step queen would die. She was a haughty and arrogant woman.
“ Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?” the Queen thundered in her elegant bedroom in her long flowing nightgown.
“ It is you, who else shall it be? My dear queen. For you are the fairest throughout the entire kingdom,” replied the mirror in a soft voice.
“ I know I am,” the queen roared and went on with her business.

Everyone is invited, but only 21 year-olds will be eligible to dance with the prince,” the herald verbalized running through the town square.
He went house to house handing out invitations. He went back to the palace and notified the king that he told everyone. Everyone was in a hurry setting up for the ball. The cooks were making dainty treats and maids were setting up and preparing for the ball. Meanwhile, the prince was endeavoring on his tuxedos to choose the one he looked best in. After everything was finished, the cooks, maids, and the royal family got together and decided to relax and watch some Netflix before the guests arrived. At 6 P.M, guests started walking in with fancy designer dresses.
“ I am grateful that all of you were able to attend this ball. The prince will dance with the 21 year-olds here and marry the woman who he falls in love with,” announced the

Let's say he is in a better place now.” She said with a sweet smile and turned to the royal family. “ I know I am not felicitously dressed, but will the prince dance with me?” she asked.
“ Yes! Of course,” the prince replied with a huge smile. The crowd of 21 year-olds stormed out of the palace devastated they didn’t get picked and their families followed them. In a few minutes, everyone was gone, including the royal family. The prince and Belle were the only ones left in the great ballroom. As they commenced to dance, the prince fell in love with her. He loved how she didn’t care about how she looked and he loved her confidence. They danced to Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, and slow music. The title of Lucille Clifton’s “What the Mirror Said” resembles a parallel to the story of Snow White. The Evil Queen constantly looks into her mirror and asks it whom is the fairest in the land; the answer usually points to her, but one day it mentions that a younger woman that is even more beautiful. If I ever got a ticket to visit any place I wanted, I would immediately use it to travel to a site called Palooza. It was created by me when I was eight years old. At that age, I was very much into fairy tales, so I constructed like a city where fairy tales weren’t exactly legends. The only way to get into that place was through a very powerful ring. Three taps on the center of the ring and a magical portal would appear to take you to any desired location.…

In many classic fairy tales, the role of women is directly tied to her relationships with men. In the Brothers Grimm fairy tale of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”, the role of the looking glass is to allow Snow White’s stepmother to gain truth of her questions, which the literary website SurLaLune interprets as the male gaze, which objectifies the woman. However, this interpretation is viewing the Stepmother’s hatred to be jealousy of Snow White’s beauty as a method to gain men. This is a one dimensional argument because it does not take into account the Stepmothers own feelings, and rather diminishes them to seeking male attention. I believe that the mirror represents the Stepmother’s insecurities in herself and her reflection of her soul, which she projects by hating Snow White.…

Dempster 4 With this line, she points to her own Christ like humility and, in reference to princes’ palaces, admonishes her brothers’ fortunes and pride, which puts her in the place of the perfect master. As an example of a good prince, the Duchess is just as willing to step down to the level of servant as she is willing to raise them up. Therefore, what makes a good prince and a bad prince is framed by the religious references because Christ raises up faithful servants and is humble, unlike Ferdinand who surrounds himself with yes men who advise him that “It is fitting a soldier arise to be a prince, but not necessary a prince descend to be a captain” (1.2 15-16).…

In the fairy tale of “Little Snow-White”, the authors introduce us to two beautiful women, whom happen to be stepmother and stepdaughter. However, the task of this essay is not to discuss the beauty of the two, but to discuss the complex relationship they share. Hence, to accomplish the task at hand, I shall analyze two scenes from the fairy tale and these scenes happen to be; firstly, the mirror informing the stepmother for the first time that she is not the “fairest in all of the land”; and secondly, the third attempt made by the stepmother to murder Snow-White via the use of a poisoned hair comb. Moreover, these two scenes will not only demonstrate the relationship Snow-White and her stepmother share, but also the message it conveys, and…
