This story picks up at the end of the story ‘The Cay” It’s about what happens to Phillip Enright and Stew Cat when Timothy dies in the Hurricane. That night of the cold, windy, rainy Hurricane Timothy and I had been tied up to a Palm Tree. The wind was blowing with all force behind it me and Timothy ha to hang on for our life. Then just like that the wind was calm like the ocean breeze I had asked Timothy what was happing he replayed it’s the eye of the storm young bass. The worst is just behind the eye young bass be ready. I was in shock that Timothy had told me that, all this time I was thinking that the storm was over. Timothy was really weak he didn’t talk much I was just assuming that he’s really tired from all the sand and …show more content…
Last week Timothy was getting a lot of vines so I can travel all over the cay wit out getting hurt only if I can find one of those vines I can go to the reef to get some fish. I had been looking all day for the vine finally I found it I was so happy I can tell that Stew Cat was really happy to. Days had passed and I was sleeping just on the sandy beach. I started to get really hungry and if I could just find the reef I knew that he had left an old fishing line and some rusty old hooks to. The journey began early in the morning because I really didn’t want to catch the hot sun in the afternoon. I began by walking around the sandy beach and feeling the rocks with my hand’s. I looked all afternoon for the reef then out of the blue I found it I told Stew Cat that we are eating good tonight. Then as I was feeling for the old fishing line and rusty hooks I found a clam I told Stew Cat that I found some good bait. So as I put on the clam threw the rusty hook the wind starts to pick right back I was getting really worried that I was going to run out of time to fish. I threw the fishing line in the water right when I threw the line it was getting really tense so that’s …show more content…
The day’s had passed like the moon was still every day it felt like it was forever I had not seen one boat or a ship. I was beginning to believe that no one was looking for me they just forgot all about me or they thought I was just dead. I had lost all hope that I was ever going to be saved. The next day I just started to think what if I make a big fire so they can see me from the sky I really never thought that will work cause an airplane has to fly over the cay first to see the big fire so I just blew that Idea off. I was running out of fresh water cause it haven't rained in a couple days I just got a rock and was digging a hole in the sand I put a plastic layer in the bottom of the hole and filled it with some Saltwater from the ocean then I put a cup in the middle of the hole. I got some more plastic so I can put it in the top of the hole so that the fresh water can evaporate and fall into the cup. I had plenty of fresh water for me and Stew Cat for a couple of days. After more then a year in The Cay we finally heard a boat from far away I was so excited, but the ordeal was not over yet they had to see us first to save us. I rushed to the big pile of wood and got the fire to light the wood I was

A series of small waves pressed the sail boat against the alge dock as his cold and cracked hands desperately yanked on the rope in an effort to raise the sails. Dark clouds had moved in the night before and had stayed overnight providing a refreshing sprinkle of rain every now and then. He looked out over the vast plain of unsettled water and saw one individual white cap rise up among the rest only to be pushed back down. Due to the lack of sunlight the frigid water appeared black and lifeless but he knew that below it was a complex community of different species. For three years, Father had refused the idea of leaving North Carolina. But my brother, Ben, sent us another letter, addressed as he always did to John Benjamin Wilks and Katie. In the letter Ben was praising his new farm, the richness of the land and how many more acres he was clearing. He told of the bountiful crops of corn and wheat that he would be reaping in a few weeks, more corn and wheat per acre than Father had ever gotten from our old worn out farm in North Carolina. He told of the abundance of water, game, and timber.…
