As I scrutinize the azure abyss and its infinite cotton balls, I respire gradually and contemplate my existence and my purpose. I am surrounded by colossal, emerald trees and feel the invigorating breeze down my back. Perhaps, I am not an F. Scott Fitzgerald, when it comes to describing and recounting the scenery around me. However, I am anything but ordinary, I am a seed! I live with an everlasting hope and desire to sprout and impact the world. Meanwhile, I depend on innumerable elements like family, education, aspirations and dreams. Finally, I am fairly as minuscule as an actual seed, but I am just a late bloomer.

I consider myself two insects: a queen-bee and a book worm. The queen-bee comes from my ability to be a leader and stand up for my opinions. No, I do not have tons of worker bees behind my back although that would be very useful! I am an extreme bookworm and strive to have the world’s biggest collection of books in the future. One of my dearest series is the Harry Potter series which I have reread three times. I compare all the four Harry Potter houses to myself: Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Slytherin. However, I do not aspire to work as a full-time demented wizard like Voldemort. In addition, I absolutely adore music, it really helps me concentrate on my homework and it allows me to connect to the world around me. “Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything” (Plato). There are four particular people that I look up to: Mother Teresa, Thérèse of Lisieux, Socrates and Susan B. Anthony. It is an eccentric mix but their ability to advocate for the rights of others, their viewpoint of love, their selfishness and their development of thinking have inspired me for years. “The unexamined life is not worth living” by Socrates is a quote that I live by because it allows me to reflect on my life and think back at moments and relive them. One particular moment was when I was a youngster and went astray in a substantial mall. At that moment, I thought about the atrocities of not playing with my toys anymore. Now I think about the attention that my family always seems to possess and how they are always there to support me through the highest of mountains and the deepest

After watching some gameplay videos for the new ps4 game Until Dawn, I was reminded of a strange term I had once heard, the butterfly effect. Upon seeing this, I decided to do some research to find out more about it. The Chaos theory more commonly called the butterfly effect summarized by Edward Lorenz is a branch of mathematics that deals with complex systems whose behaviour is highly sensitive to slight changes in conditions, so that small alterations can give rise to strikingly great consequences. With this, I thought a many life decisions that I had made, both large and small and thought of how they affected my life and how different my life would be if I had chosen to take another path. I am a Christian and with further thought, came to…

As a child growing up in Rhode Island, the smallest state in the Union, the idea of a vast planet brimming with civilization and culture was more like something out of a fairy tale than it was reality. So, when my father announced that we would be leaving the country to go to Scotland, the home of his and my ancestors, my world began to expand at a rapid pace. This trip could not have been timed more perfectly. The summer of 2007 marked the end of fourth grade, my first year at Saint Mary Academy Bay View.…

My experience with the after school book club at Madison Elementary today was an exciting yet my patience was tested by a seven year old little boy named Jose. Today I was excited to see if my group would enjoy the book, “Where the Wild Things Are,” due to the fact everyone agreed they enjoy reading adventure books. Consequently, one of my group members, Jose, had already read the book and watched the movie and let the whole group know it was “boring.” Already bored he instantly lost interest in the book and the group and was making it known by distracting the other group members around him. Usually his partner in crime, Gilbert, agrees with him and goes along with him but this time was different and he ignored his friend because he was actually…
