Short Story: Strangers In The Dumpster

A voice comes over the speaker, which brings you to awake. “Hello,” The sounding begins. You sit up slowly, the world around you spins at a rapid degree and the smell of rot and decay assaults your nostrils. You can’t help but notice how something is squeezing your wrists. Upon closer inspection, your eyes widen to see the chains clinging to your limbs. The calm voice returns overhead, “Welcome Six, you are one of the last survivors of the apocalypse. You and your fellow inmates are likely to be infected, you will need to wait in our quarantine for seven hours. After this time has passed we will be able to analyze your blood, if you have not been infected, or killed we will allow you into our sanctuary. Please sit tight.”

It seems you and your poser will be forever trapped in a staring contest until the two of you hear a shrieking. The doppelganger shivers and sticks two fingers down its throat, you watch in awe as the monster then regurgitates a pair of keys. You hold out your wrists instinctively and the creature shares a soft smile. You get the feeling it doesn’t want to hurt you. It unlocks your restraints and your rub your aching wrists. You take it and run. Together the two of you reach a crack in the wall. The creature hoists itself in there, you seem to have trouble with the footing. Behind you now if the monster, it seemed to have no face, long gangly arms, and legs, there was a crack in its plaster like face, that you could only assume to be its mouth. The doppelganger outstretched a hand for you and you take it.
Your reflection pulls you to their face with immense strength and whispers in your voice, “It’s kill… or be killed in here….”
The doppelganger then drops you and you fall, the white creature stares at you, no longer interested in it’s harder to catch prey. The nonexistent eyes bore into you. It uses one of its straggly arms to grab you by your feet and the other by your head. It then begins to pull. You scream as your organs stretch and tear. The shrieks that exit your mouth are almost inhuman like. You cry and wish for death, then it starts ripping. Your skin, no longer able to withstand the length it's at, begins to break apart. With one swift move from this hellish beast, it tears you in two.
An announcement plays overhead, “Congratulations Six, your DNA has shown up virus clean, you will be retrieved in fifteen minutes, please wait patiently and do your best not to make a
