Short Story: Small Nursery School Murder

\Another murder has occurred. HYUN-JUNG (mid 30s) runs a small nursery School, and is in trouble since she is out of donation money to feed the children. She falls down after a STRANGER wearing a baseball cap squeezes her neck from behind. Inside the nursery school, Det. Park finds out a connection between the victims: the people around the victims, they lose hope because of their deaths. Det. Park heads to Father Choi with the blurry photo from the victim’s phone, where the Stranger is reaching out at her and there’s a small tattoo on his wrist, which is the same symbol as the one the cut in Italy used 300 years ago. Det. Park thinks the Stranger with a cap is the demon, and he is trying to spread despair. All previous victims were a teacher, …show more content…
They arrive at a church by a cab, and the Corpse kills the driver.So-Young explodes in rage that he killed another innocent man. Inside the church, an OLD NUN (50s) welcomes him in surprise. According to the Old Nun, he has been missing for about a year and a half. He finds his old diary, with the last entry written in one year and a half ago. The Corpse wears his black clerical outfit with the white collar, and drives his old car to find out who killed him. When So-Young asks him why he wore that outfit, he replies he’s going to give despair instead of hope. So-Young looks through the Corpse’s diary, and takes pictures of the pages with people’s names and addresses. However, all the people in his diary are already dead. However, there is one couple who are not dead yet, an old couple operating a boarding house. The Corpse threatens to kill them and asks why they are the only ones who are alive. After seeing the Old Man turning blue, the Old Woman begs if he lets him go, then she will tell him the truth. The Old Woman confesses that the stranger came one day and gave them two choices: follow his directions or die. The stranger made them to send the students to him, and those who went to see him didn’t return. The Old man gives him the address of the place they sent the students to, and begs for forgiveness. After they leave, the stranger visits the old couple. They denies to obey them this
