Exposition: With his hot suit on Jay wonders away from the hospital with a growling stomach in search for food. He finds rotten withered vegetables inside an abandoned shack and eats what’s left of them to tie him over until he comes upon another source of energy. His town is dead and to him it seemed like no one survived, not even Ms. Manigat. He saw deserted cars that had rusted almost all of the color off of them with no life within. Old blood stained the streets along with filthy rags of cloth and unburied bodies on top of the dirt as if no one had the time. Even though food and finding a new home was on the list Jay was 10 years old and hadn’t swung on a swing since he could remember, and since his brother died. He laughed with delight, this was the first time he was having fun in a very long time, but soon he became very exhausted and hungrier than he had ever felt. He staggered towards the front door of the house knocked and preceded inside, finding vegetables on the counter he knew someone lived there. Manigat told Jay her blood was not a cure to Virus-J, it just made him feel better and recover faster. Jay insisted he felt like he was never sick with the virus and his body didn’t hurt like before. Thinking like a doctor he thought there has to be a cure looking at Ms. Manigat noticing her mask was off, and she wasn’t sick. He screamed with eagerness telling her she is the cure, her blood, she never got sick after caring for them, and when he was sick she rushed to give him her blood without the hot suit on so that he wouldn’t die. She was the cure and they all knew it, Ms. Manigat remembered that when she worked at the CDC some of her patients were immune to other diseases and never got sick. That’s how they made the vaccines to many diseases at the CDC, by studying the blood of the immune to create a new vaccine. Could she really be immune she thought to
