The story of the Disney Short Story: Paper Man produced by Kristina Reed and directed by John Kahrs, show both form and content in a quality six-minute and thirty-three second short film. The idea of the film was a bold, yet well designed. The film’s making was complex because it was all hand drawn and it lacks dialogue between anyone during the film, yet it was still about to get its many points and messages out. The man, also known as the “Paper Man” in the film uses the paper to overcome contradiction by throwing paper airplanes at the one he has found love with at first sight. It gave a dull feeling to the film and made it feel as if the only bright spot was the red lipstick stain on that single piece of paper. The lipstick stain was used to show that the only life in the story would come from the single piece of paper, during the beginning when it occurred, when it brought the other papers to life and, when they reconnected those seemed to be the brightest moments of the story. The lipstick that shows form because it represented life and played its responsibility well. It was even more unique because this whole film there was not a single word spilled out the story was told through actions. The idea of an applicable film without a single word is intriguing because it’s either pass or bust. How the creators of this film made this effective was by giving lifeless objects key protagonists and made little things with more meaning in association to the meaning they would have in previous or other short films. The paper seems to come to life and bring the whole story to life and ended up helping the man reach his end goal as soon as he gave up. The papers follow him and this fairy-tale scene of all the paper airplanes he threw comes together to lead both the man and the woman back together at the train station. The form helps the man overcome his adversity and contradiction by bringing showing that the life in everything was through the paper and that one single girl. An argument can be made that the woman and paper man aren’t the main character in the film but in fact the
