I started driving faster and faster until I couldn’t see their headlights in my rearview mirror anymore. We saw the mysterious car turn onto another road. We all were a little freaked out but made it back to my house safely. We got my clothes then spent the night at Cloe’s house where we stayed up too late and laughed way…
“One for the Road” was quite the interesting story. For a person like me who enjoys small horror, not to much or too little, this is the perfect short story. Herb Tookey took most of my attention in the story. He was the “wise elder” of the group, he always knew what to do to help and gave information when needed. When trouble came he answered and helped.…
Have you ever got the feeling that riding a wagon is just too slow? Well you don’t have to worry about it anymore! We have just created a new way to travel with speed and it can make the ride less bumpy. It is able to move with such ease and speed because the “car” uses oil to move instead of horse power .The wheels are made of rubber so that the rubber will stop the shock of going through out the car.…
A couple years ago my family and I were on our way to out hotel in Galveston, Texas for a cruise. We were at Denton, Oklahoma when we got stuck. We got stuck because for the icy roads. Turns out that two semis got jack knifed at the top of the hill in front of us. We thought just to stay three and maybe they would get the semis out of the way, but we were wrong.…
She knew she didn't like it, and fought to make it stop, but she really didn't understand what was happening to her was a crime. The unnamed victim started getting repeatedly raped by a 14-year-old boy when she was just 9-year's-old. The sexual assaults on the girl that began in 2009 continued for two years. Fear was used by Luke Driver to torture the child into doing what he wanted by locking her in a closet filled with spiders until she would do what he wanted her to. He knew the spiders terrified her, and that was how he would force her to give into his sexual demands.…
The accident happened when we were about to leave the wintery wonderland. Carl and I just came off of MakkAttack which is a slope going down to the terrain park on Pacesetter which is another, smaller slope. They only put this sick terrain park up at the end of the season. It was about 50* and sunny as can be for the winter. I was boarding in a regular sweatshirt and a snapback.…
Billowing Blizzard Baffles Boy “Trust me, I’ll be fine! Go have fun!” I exclaim, practically waving goodbye to my winter-wrapped family. Almost like they couldn’t wait to be rid of me, they climbed aboard their snowmobiles and drove off. Quickly, I shut the front door to my grandparents’ house.…
It is sunny out as I sit in the driver's seat, happy to be excused from school. The air conditioning blows heavily as I gaze out the window in anticipation when, finally, the person I'm awaiting comes into view. As she approaches, my father turns and asks me, “Are you ready.” “Absolutely,” I respond with certainty. At that moment, I was thinking it was only a matter of minutes before I was a licensed driver.…
Sunny days can so quickly turn into dreadful afternoons. No one can expect to have a wonderful day, every day, for 365 days, every year because in all honesty everything can change in one second. My 100-inch curved smart 4-D television turned on with the sound of my voice. The couch began to move to maximize my viewing experience.…
There has been a diffrent kind of work in Upland this week. There has been a bunch a people that we talked to this week that were frustrated about their life trials. It seems that when people share their life trials with us, we sort of take on some of the weight of their trials. We have been doing our best to comfort people and share with them how the gospel can help them in their life. I know that the gospel can help bring us peace and comfort, but it is difficult to help others understand.…
We were at a standstill. We always anticipate a little bit of traffic on our trips, so we just continued waiting calmly. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, another car crashed into the back left side of our car. Our car then crashed into the concrete wall on the side of the road. I wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and as i mentioned before, i was in the middle seat.…
I have had a lot of experiences where doors have opened and closed for me. A big one that has been recent this year was getting my license. Having the ability to drive around in my own car alone is a big responsibility to an open door that could lead to a closed door. Not only are you responsible for yourself while driving a vehicle, but when having others in the car with you, you are 100% responsible for them as well. Before driving you have to make sure everyone is wearing their seatbelt at all times and that no one distracting you.…
Madness Behind the Wheel While driving on the interstate, two women exchange foul words to each other after one of them abruptly cut the other off to avoid other slow drivers. This is just one instant out of many that display road rage. How many times have you lost your temper behind the wheel? What about rude gestures to the car behind you? Within the last three decades, road rage has become “the” term for aggressive driving within various areas including: the media, policy making, and the world of science.…
So as I had said before me and a few friends planned on going on a road trip during one of our week long breaks. We had been planning on doing something like this for a while and didn’t know where we were going to go or what we were going to do. Originally we were planning on going for a nine or ten day trip where we would have driven to a few different places where we wanted to go. During…
I looked up to my left and saw a guard rail with a river behind it, the car was heading towards it. My sister took control of the wheel and steered us the best she could towards the ditch. It was all green everywhere as the rear of the car hit the ditch first and spun us around, sending the front hitting the ditch as well. We spun around one more time, completing two 360’s. It might have been the wrong thought, but I was thinking about the airbags deploying at top speed, knocking us in the face, and injuring…
