Ashley was sitting on the counter sipping her strawberry milkshake. lucille was making the last of the pancakes for the diner. She finished her pancakes or, “ lucy cakes” as we called them, she handed them to me. I inhaled the smell as i served it to the remaining table. i walked back and sat down at the stools, ashley, kara, and Mila were already waiting for lucille and i to finish up our work. as i sat down a plate of blueberry pancakes were laid in front of me, strawberry for ashley, banana for kara, chocolate for Mila, and raspberry for lucille. i breathed in the heavenly smell, pancakes were my favorite and lucille made the best. Everything hurt,My body was shivering in pain. I opened my eyes and instead of pain panic filled my body. I was not Home, I was not at the Diner, I didn’t know where i was. I swallowed the panic and studied my surroundings i was laying on a beach with sharp black rocks that were digging into my skin, The sky was blue with gray clouds. The rocks were digging into my flesh so I stood up. the weird thing was the fact that I wasn't bleeding and my elbow was twisted at a weird angle, but i didn't feel any pain. I looked around again in front of me there was this shiny, bright arctic blue water. to the left i saw big gray boulders, to the right more boulders and a green forest. i looked back in the front back to the mysterious water i started hobbling my way toward it, when a poof and a groan sounded behind me. I stood still, frozen in my place. I heard a groan, and i spun around quickly ready to charge. I relaxed when i saw a boy around my age laying on the rocks. He stood up slowly, groaning as he wiped off sharp pieces of rocks still sticking to his body. he started to look around, i stiffened, he looked straight at me. we stayed like that for what seemed like eternity. Then he spoke in a raspy voice,
“who are you and where am I” he demanded. I put on my best innocent look and replied truthfully,
“My name is Tara, Tara Knight, as for where we are i do not know. What is your

Realization The table was slightly illuminated by the dim, golden light from the lamp, casting blurred shadows against the walls. Papers were strewn everywhere across the wooden surface, rustling gently as a cool wind drifted through the open windows. The places that the lamp’s meager light could not reach were slightly lit up by the soft, silver moonlight. With a small huff of breath, I pinched my nose bridge, trying to fend off the headache that was steadily throbbing through my brain.…

Salt water was filling my sinuses while the sand was taking claim of my eyes, almost as if they were working together as some sort of demonic tag team. I was looking left and right for some motivation from “brothers”, but I was dumbfounded at what I saw, it was terrifying. Every second, the chilled water was stabbing it’s icy dagger through the bones in my legs, but before I could think about the pain, we were moving. “GET SANDY AND GET YOUR LOGS”, my heart sank, weighing me down as I rolled in softest sand in the world, making sure I was completely covered.…
