I remember have seen Homer Simpson asked for three wishes in a TV Halloween special using monkey’s paw, so when I started reading this short story I immediately made the connection. I was waiting for something spooky and scary. Even I waited until midnight to start reading in order to create ambience. The author never wrote something supernatural, everything is in the mind of the reader, that’s what I love about this story. Every time that Mr. white was thinking to make a wish I started to have this feeling that something bad it was about to happen. When he was about to got his first wish, I started to shout I my mind: don't do it! Something evil is going to happen to you! With this kind of story people start to understand that every decision we made has consequences. …show more content…
This way everyone can have an opinion of what happen, maybe their own ending of the story. When the sergeant explained about the intention of the fakir putting a spell in the paw he says "He wanted to show that fated rules people's lives, and those who interfered with it did so to their sorrow" I started to think that maybe this way of thinking was common 100 years ago, but know the way of thinking is "you are the one who can write your fate”. Also the story made think that Mr. white wasn't sure that the monkey’s paw really worked, but he kept using it. Maybe it was a coincidence that Herbert died and the company offer 200 dollars to the family, but for Mr. white was something real. In my opinion he gave the power to the
