Short Story Of Reeling For The Empire

Decent Essays
In my opinion, I honestly thought that Reeling for the Empire was one of the creepiest short stories I have read in a very long time. For example, having someone basically kidnap you, lying to the guardian of that girl, and then turning you into a silk worm. That is very unusual. Next, I think it was a little rushed at the end. Also, I questioned a lot of the ideas in this story.

My first question is why did you choose the setting in Japan and at a sweatshop? You could have chosen any place and you chose a sweatshop in Japan. However, I am starting to think about why you did choose that. The only explanation I could think of is that there are a lot of sweatshops in Japan. But, that’s very predictable. I would think a writer would be more creative

What did you like about this script? I thought the writer’s take on the Hand of Glory myth was interesting and I liked that the writer made it a hand of a witch and not that of a thief as it is commonly believed to be. I would have liked it if the writer expanded on their perspective of the hand a bit more and explained why most believed the hand aided thieves to steal when in each flashback those that come in contact with the hand are all killed.…

Despite the excellent flow, there were a few flaws that could have been remedied. One of the flaws is the faintly abrupt ending. Regardless of the fact that the ending was engaging, pleasurable, and extremely relevant to the story, the resolution was a mere two chapters, which gave an impression of a slightly hurried ending. The ending, although it was well written, was somewhat diminutive.…
