After losing her boyfriend in a terrible car crash on his sixteenth birthday, Melinda Olsen began finding little gifts on her window sill, just like Richard used to place there. It was September 11, 2002, when 16 year old Melinda Olsen went to the Death Valley High Prep, for Death Valley University. It was located in New Orleans right by LSU and the New Orleans Pelicans arena. She was living in the urban part of Nola, and had just suffered the devastating loss of her intriguing boyfriend Richard, a hot senior who was the captain of every sports team, got straight A’s, and was voted the nicest person in the school by the teachers.
