After losing her boyfriend in a terrible car crash on his sixteenth birthday, Melinda Olsen began finding little gifts on her window sill, just like Richard used to place there. It was September 11, 2002, when 16 year old Melinda Olsen went to the Death Valley High Prep, for Death Valley University. It was located in New Orleans right by LSU and the New Orleans Pelicans arena. She was living in the urban part of Nola, and had just suffered the devastating loss of her intriguing boyfriend Richard, a hot senior who was the captain of every sports team, got straight A’s, and was voted the nicest person in the school by the teachers. Melinda was enjoying her day off until she saw the gifts her boyfriend used to purchase for her that she received over a year ago. …show more content…
How could this be? MELINDA!!!!! a voice kept screaming exclaimed. She went from confused to terrified. “Who’s there?” Melinda squealed. “Melinda, dinner’s ready!!!” her dad scolded with a ton of impatience. “You get your butt in here, we haven’t got all day! I’m starving!” “Be there in a second!,” Melinda said with curiosity, As soon as Melinda walked out of the room, she heard a different voice whisper to her and ignored it. She ate very quickly. After supper, Melinda dashed right back into the living room to see if she heard the voice again. She did. It was like a broken record, it was the same thing over and over. “ MELINDA,” the voice echoed. She looked behind her and somehow, saw a ghost. It looked a lot like Richard, except it was! Richard was right there!
