Short Story Of Antigone

Lightning flashed across the sky, and ghouls screeched in the night, as the fight took place, in the Stadium o’ Old. It was cold, and the two ogres circled each other, waiting for the other to make the first move. They were both armed with compret, vicious broadswords that could easily cleave a man in half. They both wore dragon-shaped helmets, but Ogre No 1, wore a red plume, whereas Ogre No 2, wore a blue plume. Spectators were chanting the ogre’s names; “Atrox!!!” (Ogre No 1) and “Peccatori!!” (Ogre No 2) These ogres were at this place, at this time, because it was Forgotten Day, where General Dominus Omnium was praised, because he was Supreme Ruler, and the subjects would do anything to gain the General’s favour.

“What is happening here?” the General, “FIGHT!!!” Atrox stepped forward, and spoke in his raspy, gruff voice. “We will not slay each other, O High n Mighty,” Atrox said with scorn. “We will only slay one person, YOU.” There were murmurs among the crowd, and the General looked down upon these two ogres with surprise. No one had ever disobeyed the General's orders, and something must be done about it. “Bring out…..” the General ordered, (pausing for effect) “The Vaellthra!!!”

There was a visible intake of breath at that, because the Vaellthra had not been brought out of it’s lair for thousands of years. This beast was formidable, as it tended to rip out the opponents throats, with its ten foot claws. The gate clanked open, and there was a blanket of silence that stretched over the stadium, as the two ogres stood, side by side, ready to take on this legendary beast.

MOARRR!! A loud roar shook the stadium, and a huge twenty foot shadow stretched over the ground, just touching the ogres feet. DUN, DUN-DUMDUM, rang out the trumpets, as the ogres stood ready with their compret, to defend themselves against this beast from the darkness. The creature in the darkness snarled and spat, and the two ogres roared, showing in tgheir own way they were not afraid one bit of this
