“My name is Thomas Sanders an’ I brought you when I was drunk, I think it’s entirely up to me. You’re a mistake.” Aliza felt her heart sink, she had just got here and now this man was telling her that he had no use for her, this was supposed to be the start of her new life! She didn’t want to cry; she clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms as she held back the tears. She didn’t want to show this bastard that she was upset.
“It was a mistake, I was-“

“Ma’am, I can pay for you to go home, I’ll book your tickets in the mornin’. I’ll be gone in the morning...” She trailed off, not sure how to explain the situation, embarrassing the man and telling his secrets would not do her any favours.
“Nah, trust me, girl, he likes you. He’s letting you stay in the guest houses, right? He must be trying to find different work for you.”
“I don’t think so,” she replied unsurely. Taya didn’t know any of the details so she couldn’t blame her for trying to make her feel
