Short Story Of Aliza's Mistake

Improved Essays
“What, what do you- what?” she spluttered. This man was infuriating, she didn’t understand why he couldn’t just tell her where she needed to go, she was jet-lagged and wanted nothing more than to shower and rest. She was sure Mr Sanders would not be happy to know she was being treated this way. She was only twenty-one, but she wasn’t naive, men had never spoken to her this way. “I hardly think that is up to you,” she snapped.
“My name is Thomas Sanders an’ I brought you when I was drunk, I think it’s entirely up to me. You’re a mistake.” Aliza felt her heart sink, she had just got here and now this man was telling her that he had no use for her, this was supposed to be the start of her new life! There was no way she could go back there. “I’m

She didn’t want to cry; she clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms as she held back the tears. She didn’t want to show this bastard that she was upset.
“It was a mistake, I was-“
“I am not a mistake!”
“Ma’am, I can pay for you to go home, I’ll book your tickets in the mornin’. You’re welcome to stay the night in one of the guest houses.” Aliza knew he was trying to be kind but somehow him saying that made her feel worse. She had thought this would fix all her problems, but now she was stranded with no money and no home. It had all been too good to be true.
“I don’t have anywhere to go! You can’t drag me half way across the world because you made a drunken mistake! You have to take responsibility for your actions. You paid for me, now here I am. Do what you will with me, but I’m not leaving.” Her chest was heaving as she stared into Mr Sanders green eyes determinedly, trying to make him understand her pain. He didn’t falter and seemed unaffected by her situation.
“I’ll get one of the girls to show you where you’re stayin’; I’ll drive you to the airport in the mornin’,” he said stiffly. He stood and left her alone in the kitchen, only then did she

I will look fabulous doing it,” she replied, silently challenging the woman to correct her. She knew she didn’t fit in here, but she wasn’t going to change herself for others. Taya laughed and nodded. “But no, I originally wasn’t here for the horses,” she finished sadly.
“So where are you gonna be working?”
“I um, it’s complicated.” She shrugged and picked up another brush from the large leather bag at Taya’s feet. She brushed along Zeus’s fur gently, she might as well help instead of standing and watching. “Mr Sanders doesn’t like me so... I’ll be gone in the morning...” She trailed off, not sure how to explain the situation, embarrassing the man and telling his secrets would not do her any favours.
“Nah, trust me, girl, he likes you. He’s letting you stay in the guest houses, right? He must be trying to find different work for you.”
“I don’t think so,” she replied unsurely. Taya didn’t know any of the details so she couldn’t blame her for trying to make her feel

RE: Unholy Conspiracy (Quix and Xana) "Thanks." Jeffrey nodded at the owner, who'd avoid getting too close to the young when he'd placed their coffee's down, and subsequently hovered, obviously interested in what such a diverse couple could be discussing in his cafe. Though, his name was well-known, the Journalist's face was not so much so, and he could see the man attempting to place where he might recognise him from, before Jeff's unwavering gaze sent him scurrying and he returned his focus to Aisha. She still hadn't spoken, and the man felt the frustration that he'd wasted his time beginning to build, readying himself to leave, as her hand dipped into her pocket, and he laid eyes on the bag contained between trembling fingers. For a moment, he thought she was going to drop it, but somehow she managed to maintain her grip.…
