Getting here was awful, not because of the weather, or anything like that. Young Caleb Adams was playing with Rose when it happened. The two young children running and chasing each other around the wagons and then poor Caleb tripped over his feet and a stranded stick. He fell and there was absolutely no way that the wagons were able to stop so fast, so abruptly. The wheels ran over his tiny frame, the only sound heard were his shrilling cries for help. That sound will never leave my head for as long as I live. The Adams’ have lost their son, and I can’t help but cry with them. We had to bury him quickly due to the herd of elk that were coming so quickly. Some men shot at the elk, most helped bury the small child. We made sure to run over the
