The following day, Wesley and Amanada arrived in the reception room of the New York Memorial Hospital. It was eerily silent, as they were the only people in the reception room besides a young couple. The man was cuddling with his girlfriend, who had a cast on her arm. The red-headed receptionist noticed Wesley and Amanda and smiled. “We’re here with the Klein Agency,” Wesley whispered to her. She nodded, and directed them towards the hallway. “You can visit Mr Cornett, if you’d like. He’s a lawyer we have hired for this investigation,” the receptionist said, gesticulating towards a large steel door beside her. Wesley and Amanda went inside the austere looking lawyer’s office. They went back to the receptionist. “Do you think it’s possible we could make a phone call to Mr Jones’ home?” Wesley asked. “Yes, of course,” the receptionist said. Thirty minutes later, they arrived in front of Mr Jones’ door. Brian opened the door. He was an exceptionally attractive man with sharp, deep-set brown eyes and an aquiline nose. “Mr Klein, it’s nice to see you. I’ve prepared coffee for the both of you. Please come in,” Brian said. Brian’s home smelled faintly of smoke and was decorated with stunning jet statues. He gestured them to sit down in an enormous living room. In the corner of the room, there was a photo of Brian and a woman on a beach. “The hospital is undergoing an investigation. Officials suspects that a practitioner euthanized patients involuntarily on September 30th,” Wesley said. Brian looked at the investigators with a blank stare. “So, why are you questioning me, then?” he said. “We were wondering if this incident was related in any way to passing of your wife,” Wesley said. The colour drained from Brian’s face and his lips formed a hard line. “Let’s get the difficult questions off hand first. Do you think it is possible that there is a connection between Antonia’s murder and the New York Memorial murderer?” Wesley asked. A pleading expression appeared on his face. “I honestly can’t
