A (Once) Jerk Prince Charming meets Cinderella
Meet Alexander Kim, he’s rich, spoiled, cold-hearted, smart, and top of the school. On the other end of the spectrum, there’s Cecilia Park, a girl who is just a ‘commoner’, and one who is introduced as the enemy of Alexander; though she is not the most clever, she’s indeed passionate about dance. The two live in Seoul, South Korea and attend Kirin High School. ------------------ As Cecilia was walking home from school with her boyfriend, she suddenly screamed “YAHHH, how dare you ruin my ice cream??!!!” Apparently, she had bumped into the so-called heart-throb, Alexander. With that, he yelled, “How dare you ruin my designer, one of a kind leather shoes?! I demand repayment, but seeing someone

Of course she expected it, this school was run by the donations of the wealthy, so obviously, the principal was to punish both her and her boyfriend due to a complaint from Alexander’s mom - who is also head of the PAC. However, the punishment was not some simple recycling duty or some other form of volunteer work; it was worse than they expected, beyond their imaginations… it was the banning of their dance club, the club where they had the freedom to ‘live and breath’, and the reason why they still attended school. As the club president, Cecilia was both astonished and bewildered, she had no idea how to explain it to her fellow group members, her very best friends. For this matter, she made a very important decision, to confront Alexander. But first, she had to go up front and tell her best friends the …show more content…
At first, Cecilia screamed, “How could you shut down our club??!!” And to her response, Alexander, who was also the president of his club, replied, “Oops, I totally did not mean to do that, it wasn’t because of the fact that your group was too loud and hence, distracting our studies. It was just a random accident, no big deal.” “Right?” he laughed. Cecilia, along with the rest of her group were furious! “THIS IS WAR!!!” she yelled. With that, she started pulling at Alexander’s hair with the rest of the group following and beating up the other members of his group. However…. BAMMM!! In a mystical awakening, both Cecilia and Alexander suddenly disappeared into purple dust! Luckily, they didn’t stay in that state for long. In a cloud of pink smoke, they reappeared; however, as they stared at each other, they noticed something ‘a little’ off, they had switched bodies! Thank goodness that their friends didn’t catch that embarrassing occurrence they thought, as they sighed in unison. For that very matter, Alexander (now in Cecilia’s body) yelled “Guys, you know what, let’s just stop and make peace for just a second; I’m tired of this war and fighting! I will discuss this issue privately with lovely Alexander the Great right now and we will fairly resolve it together. Soooo… byee!” With that,

Ezi Rangel In Meena Alexanders autobiography, the author discloses her thoughts on being lost within her own skin. Her somber diction makes the the audience aware of the desolate life that she has had to live through; always perplexed due to her mixed culture. Alexanders use of inquiring words sets for a very doleful tone. It is evidently prominent that she is diffident of herself when she directly states that she interrogates herself “night after night”. The notion of self-doubt is a very reoccurring theme found throughout her essay.…

To me, this shows strength and courage to drop something that you have worked so long and hard to achieve. A quote from the very beginning of the book was said as Alexander is driving down the highway “It will be true to you if you are true to it and you will never, never, ever become lost” (3). This demonstrates how their family dynamic is. If you are true and loyal to the clan, it will stay true and loyal right back to you.
