That’s all Emily could think about while listening to the boss going on and on and on about his vision for the company and what they should do to achieve it. Somewhere along the way, the monologue turned into reminiscence of days gone by where he only had 50 cent per day for transport and food.
Still, Emily smile and nod, unable to utter any sound lest the tickling on her throat turned into a full blown coughing fit. It wouldn’t do to make her the centre of attention today.
Her mind wonder to the laptop, dutifully waiting for her next instruction on her desk, just outside the conference room they are on.
‘If only I can use ESP and made a robot then have it deliver water for me.’ She sighed internally.

Palerton took a deep breath. He had gone through most of his entire life experience, and was about to continue with tales of his parents where the VP finally had enough and quickly step in, thanking Mr. Palerton for sharing his vast experience and once again congratulating the company staff for closing a major deal and wishing everyone the best Christmas before sending them home.

“You didn’t cough or sneeze at all? Your nose is pretty sensitive in this form.”
“Nope, near coughing fit, but all under control.” Two fingers were crossed behind Emily’s back. She did sneezed once and accidentally let her halo and wings out for a second in the bathroom. But there was nobody else there, unless you count the old janitor cleaning the toilet beside her. But she was half blind and partially deaf, Emily pretty sure she was. Beside, she had erased the old lady’s memory for good measure. So she wasn’t actually lying.
Alice looked at her suspiciously, but decided that she probably better not knowing.
“Pizza tonight?” Emily, finding her wings to be in the way of anything remotely comfortable, was already wearing track suit and sipping beer in the sofa, a bag of bbq flavoured chips in hand.
“Already ordered. You know, I thought guardian angel did not eat human food?” Alice said as she lazily plopped back to the sofa. “Or drink beer.”
“We did not need it. I just like it.” Was her only explanation before the doorbell
