Lucy’s alarm went off at 7:33am exactly. Thirty three was her lucky number ever since she was a kid when she guessed exactly how many Hershey Kisses were in the jar in her 3rd grade class. She only set her alarm for 7:33 when she had a big case, and today was the biggest case yet. She flipped through the sheets looking for her phone to turn off her Smells Like Teen Spirit alarm. She stepped on to the cold tile in the bathroom floor and stared at herself in the mirror, “you can do it, you’ve spent months preparing for this. Max will be right there with you. Everything will work out” she said to herself. She ripped through her long blonde hair with a brushed and curled it. She squeezed into her black pencil skirt and put on her favorite red blouse …show more content…

This could be the best or worst day of her life. There eyes met and Max mouthed the words “I love you” to her. The jumpsuit and handcuffs were nothing to her. Max took his seat next to Lucy.
“I love you, Lucy” he said again. “No matter what, no matter where I end up, I love you”.
She tried not to cry, but it was so hard to hold it back. He squeezed her hand under the table. This was the most public affection he could give her, and he still had to be cautious because if their relationship became uncovered, they might throw away everything Lucy did for him.
“Listen Luc, it’s not lookin’ too good for me. I don’t want you to get your hopes up. You worked your ass off for me and I can’t express how much that means, but this could be

Reconciliation Interrupted by the faint sounds of birds chirping and grass swaying in the gentle breeze, the calming silence became a distant memory. As the birds flapped their wings, moving at the edge of the tiny meadow, from one tree to the next, they cast their shadows over the body of a small brown skinned, black haired girl.
