This book is all about Ben Carson and his family. This book is very heart touching and very emotional. And this book can be a motivational source for anyone. There is some situation when Carson family had a hard time in their life and financially they are not rich so they had money problem. Ben Carson was born in Detroit in Michigan on 18 September 1951. And ben father was working in Cadillac motor company in Detroit. In beginning of this book, it looks like ben was not intelligent in his study. He struggles a lot to achieve a high grade. And other student in their class make a fun of ben. This is the most embarrassing part of his life. I think this was the turning point of his life when he gets his first spectacles. And because of this he started seeing clearly on Blackboard and he can see everything clearly. And ben mom also see improvement in his grade. Spectacles bring a biggest change in his life. Because they are poor they don’t have enough money to buy a new pair of clothes. Because of this some boys in the school make fun of ben because of clothes he was wearing. His mother was great because every time when ben get embarrassed in school she motivates ben. She tells him that if other people can do it you can do it better. So, ben mother is her real strength and ben is the only hope for her mother to bring good days in their life. I like the situation when Carson family have no money to spend they go to Boston to live with in his uncle house and ben uncle helped them a lot. After getting glass ben was the top student among all 7th grade student. After living with uncle some days

In the book “How to grow from no”, I discovered that the main character Bennie Lambert has had many experiences that are relatable in addition to his discovery of many educational lessons that he gained from them. He also displayed how having a supporting family could get you extremely far in life. As you continue reading, you will be provided with a brief overview of this story, in addition to the beneficial lessons that I would personally find appropriate to keep in mind as far as my my life journey. Prior to the beginning of the book, Bennie provides the reader with an overview of his life experiences when he was younger. He discussed how him and his sister constantly received attention and love from their family as they engaged in many fun activities such as Pee Wee football and YMCA basketball.…

Inspirational, uplifting, and informational are three words I choose to describe the memoir: Becoming Ms. Burton wrote by Cari Lynn and Susan Burton. It’s not every day you get the chance to read a book that is able to enhance your own perspective on life, but Ms. Burton’s book did just that. The story, Ms. Burton’s story, give reader’s a major glimpse into the life of a woman suffering from her unearned disadvantages and the consequences that are tied to those disadvantages. The beginning of the story starts with Susan, Ms. Burton’s former self, and takes the reader’s on a journey through Susan’s life full of hardships from growing up in a crime-ridden neighborhood, to her introduction to crack cocaine. As the book moves forward, Susan’s story evolves into a bigger story that is connected to multiple social problems such as poverty, abuse, and racial discrimination in the justice system.…

Christ figures are displayed throughout literary works all the time and they help create a deeper and symbolic meaning to the story. An example of a Christ figure is in the movie Seven Pounds, where the character Ben Thomas devotes his life to helping others with illnesses. Some similarities that I found Ben shared with Christ include: 1)Ben Thomas is in agony because he regrets causing the accident that killed innocent people. 2)Ben is self-sacrificing because he helps the terminally ill and other people who actually deserve help. He donates bone marrow to a small boy and donates one of his kidneys to and older woman.…

His identity changes from adolescence as he incorporates his race back into his life, not embarrassed about his white mother or black father, but proud of them. He incorporates the Lutheran face into his life that held him strong through the death of his father, brother, and other tragedies. The race and religion he lost in adolescence, but he finds them again in adulthood while keeping the independence he learned as a teenager. His experiences with race and religion middled his identity through childhood and adolescence, but that muddling only made his identity as an adult stronger as he continues to stay true to himself and comfortable in his own skin instead of worrying about what people will think of his mother. His identity as an adult as mixed race, lutheran, writer and musician, goes through challenges when he again asks Ruth about her past and she reveals her Jewish faith as a child.…

How would your life be different if your family was in poverty and your father was an alcoholic? In the memoir Angela's Ashes written by Frank McCourt. Frank who is the oldest out of six children is the protagonist. Throughout the memoir Frank explains how his life was growing up in a poverty family, his father being an alcoholic and never being able to hold a steady job, and the death of his three younger siblings.
