Short Story Ender's Game By Orson Scott

In all three of my short stories people have a hard time accepting others and their differences. My first short story I will be talking about is Ender’s Game By Orson Scott. In this story people don’t accept Ender because he was born third in his family making him a third. He also has a chip in his neck that was put in there when he was born because having a third child where they’re from isn’t normal and is shunned upon by the people. “Perhaps it's impossible to wear an identity without becoming what you pretend to be.” I believe that this quote really says a lot about Ender and how he had to grow up not being accepted by others, especially the kids at his school. One day the husband went outside of the den and started changing into something that looked to be a mutant creature, changing in ways the wife had never seen before. The creature then saw the wolf's den and picked up a stick from a fallen tree which he then shoved into their den, the wife then snapped the branch. He began to run towards the open fields, the wife and her sister both chasing after him. Once the wife's sister got to him she bit down on his neck, killing him within a few seconds of the initial bite. In this short story the wife and sister did not accept the husband because of his physical differences and because they thought he was trying to hurt their family. The third and final short story I will be talking about is What, of This Goldfish, Would You Wish? by Etgar Keret. This story is about a man named Sergei that went around his city to ask people “if they had a magic goldfish that could grant them any 3 wishes, what would they be?” There were many different responses to the question he had been asking.
