Short Story: Delta Tau Chi

The young freshman had actually yet to sleep with any of the girls at College. In fact, he'd only had sex twice in his entire life, both of those intoxicated fumblings with one of the High School whores who'd spread their legs for any male with a bottle of liquor and an attitude; both of which Stuart possessed, and had happened late at night, under the cover of darkness. Of course, that number had been multiplied ten-fold when swapping stories with the other members of Delta Tau Chi, as had tales of his sexual prowess and stamina. Society is not an all-male world anymore, it is an interracial society in which men cannot just be leaders by showing their masculinity. This is one of the reason why men go to an all-male institution. Unimpressed by the early morning alarm clock, he angrily pulled his pillow over his head and attempted to drown out the noise. Stephen Dunn’s “Locker Room Talk” takes the reader through Dunn’s personal experiences as he listened to other guys’ stories about girls throughout his life. His memories start from when he was young, at around twelve or thirteen, when an older boy named Frankie talked about having sex with a girl and introduced him to pornography in the school yard where he felt “Wonderment. Not wonderful.” Later on, when he got more experience under his belt, the wonderment that he felt was substituted by embarrassment although he did not know if he was embarrassed for the girl being spoken about, the guy telling the story or himself as the listener. During college while at the locker room he heard a guy explain, purposely loud enough so the whole room…
